After two rounds, Cambridge City A and Linton Tigers were in equal first place, with seven points out of eight. In the third round, Cambridge won all their games, whilst Linton could only manage 3½. So the final placings were:

3 Linton Lions 10
4 Cambridge City B 9
Bury St Edmunds teams filled the next five places.

The Bury Area Chess League season commences on Monday 22 September, when Ely host Cambridge Examiners.
